Sefton Children’s Trust was formed as a registered charity in 1984 by 3 foster Mothers. The charity aims to provide support for families and young people experiencing difficulties such as disadvantage, poverty, family illness or chaotic circumstances. Families who benefit mainly reside within the borough of Sefton.
Activities provided include an annual week long respite break for up to 70 children aged 8-11, provision of Christmas hampers for families who are most in need, the organisation of an annual day out for all the family and signposting to other agencies/charities. The charity is fully volunteer led and has no paid staff.
The Trust are now recruiting volunteers for their 2016 residential due to take place from Saturday the 13th Aug until Friday 19th Aug 2016. If you are aged 18+, have a current enhanced DBS check (including checking of the children’s barred list) and have an interest in volunteering with children they would be delighted to discuss this opportunity with you further.
