Festival Volunteering on Your Doorstep!

The Canal & River Trust are looking for 16-25 year olds to help plan and deliver a youth festival for their Desmond Family Canoe Trail Project, based in Bootle.

The Desmond Family Canoe Trail joins the West and East Coasts of England, starting in Liverpool and ending in Goole, Yorkshire. As part of this project young volunteers are needed to join their Youth Management Board, who will plan the festival from scratch.

“The festival will take place on the Desmond Family Canoe Trail,” says Beth Cropper, Project Leader “But other than that – it’s over to you! The volunteers will decide what festival they would like to organise, manage and put on!”

The Youth Board will get the chance to make the festival whatever they want, and will gain experience in events managing, marketing, events administration and event delivery!

There are a whole range of reasons why volunteers should get involved:

  • Fun, unique event shaped by you
  • Great experience for CV
  • Independence and a chance to deliver what you choose
  • Event management experience
  • Events administration, marketing and delivery experience
  • Support from the Canal & River Trust team
  • Shape the festival how you want!
  • You will be a volunteer at the Canal & River Trust, a well-known national charity

If you are 16-25 years old and you are interested in this project contact Beth Cropper (Desmond Family Canoe Trail Project Leader) on 07483928233 or email beth.cropper@canalrivertrust.org.uk
