Can you spare any of your time to help The Whitechapel Centre?
Are you fashion forward and love to rummage?
Do you have a flair for finding a bargain or spotting a treasure?
Do you enjoy a natter and a chance to meet new people?
If the answer is ‘YES!’, then you are the volunteer for Open Door Waterloo, the latest in the Whitechapel Centre’s chain of charity shops. Volunteers will be supporting their staff in delivering a unique retail experience whilst raising vital funds for the charity.
“Open Door Waterloo is a fresh, unique take on the traditional charity shop,” says David Roper, Volunteer Manager for the Whitechapel Centre “We pride ourselves on stocking our shop with known and designer brands, retro and vintage items, and something a bit quirky. We are looking for Volunteers to support staff in the smooth running of our exciting enterprise.”
Volunteers will help to process sales, restock shelves, sort merchandise, and generally help staff in the upkeep and running of the shop. You will also be engaging with members of the public and donors regarding the work of the Whitechapel Centre.
The Whitechapel Centre supports rough sleepers, those at risk of homelessness and homeless families through a varirty of interventions including temporary accomodation, support workers, and information and signposting.
