British Red Cross looking for Volunteer Drivers to deliver wheelchairs to people in need

The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, responding to disasters, conflicts and individual emergencies here in the UK and across the world. They enable vulnerable people to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, they help people to recover and move on with their lives.

Do you enjoy driving and meeting new people? Then this is the role for you! This role is to deliver wheelchairs to people locally or further afield to help them get moving again after illness or injury based in Liverpool.

They would like you to volunteer:

  • A few hours a week
  • Tuesday to Friday
  • For at least 6 months

Ideally you will live within 10 miles of the equipment collection point.

Health and Safety Statement

They take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. They may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment. They will also have a conversation with you to discuss any restrictions that may still be in place in your region and identify any adjustments you may need.

If you have any questions, please contact the British Red Cross at wheelchairvolunteer@redcross.org.uk or 03000 040 309.
