Digital Champion Volunteer wanted in Southport

Include-IT Mersey are a charity who aim to help people across the Liverpool City Region to get skilled up and online.

They are looking for Digital Champion volunteers who will work in local communities to promote the benefits of learning digital skills. Volunteers will support members of the public at digital drop-ins to learn basic digital skills on either their own device, or computers at the venue.

Volunteering will predominantly take place Mondays to Fridays between 9am & 5pm in Southport. The hours of volunteering are flexible depending on the volunteer.  Travel expenses can be paid.

If you are reliable, have a friendly and proactive character and are enthusiastic about the positive effect that technology can have on someone’s life then you have the skills necessary to be a Digital Champion.

Skills Description

Digital Champions don’t have to be IT experts. A basic knowledge of using email, the internet and common software (such as Microsoft Word, etc.) should be enough.

It’s more important that volunteers have a friendly, outgoing manner and that they are comfortable speaking to the public. Volunteers should be non-judgemental and open minded.

What is in it for you?

  • The opportunity to develop new and existing skills
  • Gain experience of volunteering in a charity
  • The opportunity to meet new people
  • Build confidence and self esteem
  • Give back to your local community and much more!
