By 2030, they want to see advances across the spectrum of heart and circulatory diseases; to prevent these conditions from developing and we want those with existing conditions to have better, longer lives.

The British Heart Foundation store in Southport are actively looking to fill a varied range of volunteer roles. Please read on to see if you would like to get involved with any of the below:

Cashier Sales Assistant Volunteer

Could you be the face of the Southport British Heart Foundation shop? If you want to gain cashier and sales experience in a friendly environment, this is a great way to get a taste of a career in retail while helping raise live-saving funds. With support around you, you will be processing sales through the till as a cashier, talking to customers and thanking every donor – helping beat heartbreak forever.

Electrical Items Tester Volunteer

Are you good with electrical items, or do you have an interest in electrical gadgets? If you want to help the environment in a voluntary role behind the scenes, this could be the position for you. Their electrical item tester volunteers make sure all their donated electrical items are fully functional and safe for sale.

You’ll receive detailed training which you will need to complete before starting and ongoing support from their warehouse team. You will need a knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and an attention to detail, but no specialist electrical knowledge is required. You will have a big impact on their mission to beat heartbreak forever, help the environment and provide affordable quality electrical items for sale.

Online Sales Volunteer

Do you know your way around online sales websites? Have you got an interest in researching and listing unusual or sought-after items? Or maybe you could help us promote our donated stock via the web to reach more customers online? They require curious people to help them with their online sales and sell a range of donated items on various websites, allowing customers to raise life-saving funds from home.

They have got dedicated resources to help and assist you with this unique volunteering role. Research the value of their most exciting donations, photograph them for online auction, or package them up to be sold at their online sales HQ.

Telephone & Admin Volunteer

Are you happy to chat on the telephone and can get by on a PC? Looking for administration or customer service experience? With support from the shop team you will be the first point of contact for customers, helping them with any phone or face to face enquiries, arranging collections of donations via their local van teams and explaining their Gift Aid scheme.

This is a busy front of house role for those who like to be in the thick of it, and makes a huge difference in helping raise funds to beat heartbreak forever.

Warehouse Operative Volunteer

Are you someone who would like to stay in shape, help save the planet and raise funds to save lives? Volunteering in one of the Southport furniture store warehouse could be the answer.
They need warehouse operative volunteers to keep our stock moving by hand from the van to the warehouse and shop floor, and back to the van for delivery as items sell on the shop floor.
This role is physically active as it involves carrying furniture by hand but it’s not just moving furniture around. There are other opportunities to help in their warehouse, such as warehouse logistics, booking stock in and pricing, building flat-packed furniture, and testing electrical items – you can try different roles.

If you would like to apply or find out further information on any of these roles, please contact Loraine (Assistant Manager):
