
The Brighter Living Partnership was formed in 2000 and has undertaken many different projects and activities within the past 20 years, adapting and evolving to be able to respond to community needs when required. BLP supports individuals to live healthier lives and on Tuesday mornings between 10am and 12 noon, they hold their vibrant volunteer-led community café. The café gives local residents the opportunity to meet in a warm and friendly environment.
In order to run the cafe, BLP are looking for a volunteer cook and lunch club volunteer.The cook prepares a main meal and dessert in Southport Community Centre kitchen to cater for around 16-18 guests. Volunteers will be given relevant food qualification training.
The lunch club assistant role supports by welcoming guests to the club, helping to set up and clear away dishes and tables and serving tea and coffee. There is opportunity to support the cook with preparing food and clearing and cleaning the kitchen area.
The team make a huge difference to over 55’s at risk of being socially isolated, who attend the club.
