As the COVID-19 virus peaks over the coming weeks, support will be needed to provide help to our residents and in particular vulnerable people and those who are having to self-isolate.
Please note Sefton CVS will be monitoring and responding to daily Government advice as the situation evolves in the coming weeks, so changes may be made to this page and contact form
The Sefton COVID-19 Response Programme is a borough-wide volunteer programme operating across Sefton, to ensure systems are in place to care for people and communities during the COVID-19 outbreak. The programme is coordinated by Sefton Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) – a registered charity, working all year round to support a thriving voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector in Sefton, in partnership with Sefton Council.
A coordinated effort is important to ensure that the most vulnerable people receive help and that all volunteers and recipients of support are safe. If you’re healthy and low risk, you can sign-up on the contact form below to become a Sefton COVID-19 Response Volunteer and help others in Sefton.
The programme is designed so that people can sign-up to volunteer in a range of different roles, depending on availability and preference. Volunteers can sign-up to offer practical support for vulnerable people (such as shopping deliveries, preparing meals, making check-in phone calls) or can sign-up as an informal volunteer to help within their own neighbourhood in more general ways.
Once the form below has been completed, our team will be in touch to discuss your role and match you with opportunities to help.
Thank you for your support.

The response from Sefton residents to support others in their community has been outstanding so far, but a coordinated effort is important to ensure the most vulnerable people get help. If you’re healthy and at low-risk (see NHS guidelines here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/), you can sign up here to become a Sefton COVID-19 Response Volunteer and help others in Sefton.
The purpose of this form is to collect your contact details so we can match volunteers with service gaps and people in need and engage your support as a volunteer wherever possible.
We are currently working with voluntary sector organisations to determine where they may need volunteers to assist them in their Covid-19 response.
We ask for your email address, phone number, name and postcode, along with some details about the support you would like to offer. We will store this information specifically for the volunteer response for COVID-19, in line with the Sefton CVS GDPR policy.
Volunteer Centre Sefton is a recognised, accredited Volunteer Centre, which provides support to volunteers and the wider VCF Sector.
Be kind. Now is the time to be a good neighbour. Sefton Communities are full of personality and strong, if you do one thing for others continue to look out for your neighbour who may be feeling isolated, anxious or in a period of self-isolation. If you are being offered support please do not let strangers into your home, hand over large amounts of cash or share your bank details. If you are offering support please work to Public Health guidelines on social distancing and keep yourself safe.
If you have time you can give to others, look for local community, voluntary and faith organisations within your neighbourhood who will already have the structures in place to support you to volunteer within the group and give back to your local community. We are working on how best to connect people to local social action at the scale we anticipate so please get in touch if you require support with this.
If you are a new group that has come together – let us know, please get in touch with us via firstname.lastname@example.org
