Re-engage exist to provide social connections for older people at a time in their lives when their social circles are diminshing. One of the ways they do this is by holding monthly tea parties. They are a chance for people aged 75 and over to get a change of scenery and regular afternoons of conversation and laughter with friends of all ages .
Tea parties provide a lifeline of friendship for our older people, and the regular, warm, friendly chats and companionship provide a vital link with the outside world from which they have become isolated. Drivers take older people to the parties and stay with them to enjoy the get-together. Over time, drivers and older guests get to know each other well and together spend many hours full of fun, laughter, and stories.
Tea party drivers need a full, clean, driving license.
