Women in Volunteering

Take a look at volunteering roles supporting women and girls on International Women’s Day, 8th March.

Whether you’re a woman looking to support other women in your local community or just want to volunteer in the borough, volunteering is a meaningful and valuable way to use your time.

Take a look at some of the women focussed roles below:

SWAN Women’s Centre

Working with women and teenage girls to help them improve their mental health, reduce isolation and loneliness , tackle poverty and reduce inequality. SWAN have a number of roles available including a Befriender and receptionist.

Mersey and West Lancs NHS Trust

Assist the midwifery staff and support the team with general ward duties as a Maternity Volunteer.

Girlguiding

Support young women and girls in rainbows, brownies or guides with Girlguiding Sefton.

Voice for Change

A fast-paced ever-changing environment, supporting the needs of some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society (both survivors and perpetrators) who have experienced domestic abuse. Join Voice for Change as a Domestic Violence Support Worker.

NCT

As walk leader, you will help lead hour-long walks ensuring participants are safe and also talking to parents to make them feel welcome.

Maternity Voices Partnership

A Maternity Voice Partnership (MVP) is a team of parents, health professionals, commissioners (who fund services) and community organisations working together to help make services provided during pregnancy, birth and early parenthood the best they can possibly be for each family. Join the team!
