Trustees Week 2025

Celebrating Trustees’ Week: The People Who Keep Charities Thriving

Trustees’ Week is a time to recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution that trustees make to charities across the UK. Being a trustee is both an important and rewarding role. Without the hard work, dedication, and commitment of trustees, many charities — which make a real difference in our communities — simply wouldn’t exist.

Becoming a trustee is also a fantastic way to develop leadership skills, gain new experiences, and give back to causes you care about.

We spoke to Suzy Ning from Southport, who serves as a trustee for Brighter Living Partnership, a health and wellbeing charity based in the seaside town. But Suzy’s hard work doesn’t stop there — she’s also the Chief of Staff to the Chief Medical Officer at the Northern Care Alliance, a school governor, and a busy mum of two boys.

In our interview, Suzy shares what being a trustee means to her, why she’s passionate about supporting local wellbeing initiatives, and how she manages to balance her many roles.

Watch the interview to hear Suzy’s story and find out how you can make a difference through trusteeship.
