The Sefton COVID-19 Vaccination Response Programme

Sefton Vaccine VolsPlease note volunteer registration is currently paused…

Since launching our call to action for the Sefton COVID-19 Vaccination Response Programme, the response from potential volunteers has been incredible, with over 280 people registering.

As a result we are pausing our volunteer registrations, to ensure that as many of those already registered have the chance to volunteers at one of Sefton’s vaccination centres.

We may reopen registrations at a later date, if demand for volunteers increases. In the meantime, thank you for your interest and support.

Volunteer with the NHS COVID-19 Vaccine Team;
Your NHS needs you!

The COVID-19 vaccination programme continues to be rolled out in Sefton – the biggest in NHS history – and GP-led services in the borough are looking for volunteers to help support the safe and smooth running of this work.

Registered charity Sefton Council for Voluntary Service (CVS), South Sefton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Southport & Formby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are working in partnership to register and mobilise volunteers to support the vaccination programme.

A coordinated effort is important to ensure that the as many people across Sefton receive the vaccination safely and effectively.

If you’re healthy and low risk, you can sign-up on the contact form below to become a Sefton COVID-19 Vaccination Volunteer and help others in Sefton

Please note, you must be aged 18 or over to volunteer and as per Government guidance on remaining at home, if you are shielding you are unable to register.

The programme is designed so that people can sign-up to volunteer in a range of different roles, depending on availability and preference.  Volunteers can sign-up to the following roles:

  • Welcoming patients & general administration work – you will be working at the front of the vaccination centre to greet patients and to support administration processes.
  • Marshalling outside or inside areas, ensuring smooth flow of patients and the maintenance of social distancing – you will be working across the vaccination centre, both inside and outside, welcoming a range of people to the centre.
  • Support with logistics and ensuring supplies are in place – you will be liaising with clinical teams to ensure that they have enough supplies.
  • Assisting in the recovery area – you will ensure that patients are directed to the recovery area after their vaccination and inform them when they are free to leave; ensuring safe social distancing is maintained.

Vaccination Centres in the South of the borough are located in Bootle and Maghull and those in the North are located at Southport Centre for Wellbeing and Ainsdale Centre for Wellbeing.

Once the form below has been completed, our team will be in touch to discuss your role and match you with opportunities to help.

In all cases, volunteer inductions, appropriate supervision and personal protective equipment will be available to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and patients.
