Nominee 1: Adam Gibson

Sean’s Place

Adam is a hard working and passionate young man who has been volunteering to support the men who access our service due to mental health difficulties. Despite Adam’s age he has a great breadth of knowledge in terms of how to support people who are experiencing mental and emotional struggles.

Adam gives up every Friday night to support us with our Coffee and Connect socials and is reliable, hardworking and goes out of his way to make everyone feel safe, valued and supported. Adam also identified a group of younger members who were quite socially anxiouos and set up an informal games group and resulting from this has created a very tight knit friendship group that now meet each week as well as outside of our organisation.

Throughout all of the time that Adam has been volunteering with us he has been studying, working full time as well as taking hid driving lessons. Adam is an absolute pleasure to know and work with and the positivity he brings each and every week really adds value to what we already have on offer.

8th Crosby and District Sea Scouts

These amazing young people once leaving our scout group have become young leaders and assisted and supported our beavers , cubs and scouts to meet weekly, they have planned and facilitated activities and supported the beavers, cubs and scouts to achieve activity badges.They have also supported at district camp and recently led a sponsored walk which raised over 1,500 pound towards a new adventure playground for Rowan Park School.

These young people are true inspirations for our children and excellent role models. They show excellent leadership skills, with effective communication and a passion to ensure our future beavers, cubs and scouts reach their full potential.

They are sympathetic and empathetic to all individual needs, they promote, equality, dignity and respect and are admired by all the children that they lead.

We are proud to have them as young leaders in our Scout group, and look forward to them continuing to be pro active and ameiliorating the lives of the children that they continue to support.
