M Group Roll Up Their Sleeves to Support Friends of Derby Park

Last week, nine volunteers from M Group, a business with an office in Bootle, took part in a corporate volunteering day just up the road from their base— teaming up with the Friends of Derby Park to help improve this much loved local green space.

The volunteers jumped straight into action, focusing their efforts on clearing the park’s gutters, which had become clogged with mud, leaves, and debris. This vital task helps prevent flooding and keeps the paths safe and accessible for all park users.

Two members of the team also took to the wider park with litter pickers in hand, tackling the ongoing litter problem. By the end of the session, they had filled six full bags of rubbish — a fantastic result!

Barbara, who leads the Friends of Derby Park group, expressed her thanks:

Having nine young, fit volunteers has made all the difference. Their help with clearing the gutters is something I can’t do alone or even with another volunteer. Also, thank you to the two ladies who tackled the litter problem all over the park and filled six bags with rubbish!”

We’re incredibly grateful to the M Group volunteers for giving up their time and energy to make such a meaningful difference in their local community. This is a brilliant example of how local businesses can support grassroots projects and bring real value to the places they work and live.
