Eco Stars Help Tidy Bedford Park Ahead of Sports Day

On 29 June 2026, Volunteer Centre Sefton, Green Sefton, and the Eco Stars of Birkdale Primary School joined forces for a successful litter pick at Bedford Park, Birkdale.

A team of 10 Eco Stars from Years 1 to 6 took part, showing fantastic enthusiasm and commitment to improving their local environment. Working alongside volunteers and Green Sefton staff, (and their teachers of course) the children helped collect litter from across the park, ensuring it was looking its very best ahead of the school’s sports day later that week.

The Eco Stars demonstrated excellent teamwork, community spirit, and environmental awareness throughout the session. Their hard work helped create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming green space for pupils, families, and local residents to enjoy.

By working together, Volunteer Centre Sefton, Green Sefton, and the Eco Stars made a real difference to the park and showed how community action can have a positive impact on local green spaces.

A huge thank you to all the Eco Stars who took part. Their dedication and energy were inspiring, and their efforts helped make Bedford Park as tidy as can be for the upcoming sports day.

Well done, Eco Stars!
